San Francisco Marathon...and Others....  Before rolling into the runSFM I had the pleasure of hooking up with Matt and Destination Races Napa to Sanoma Wine Country Half Marathon...folks that know me...know that I'm not a wine buff... and while I've now coined a new term up there in wine country; "Wine Testing"... I recommend this race and all of Matt's Destination Races to All Runners!  You'll meet a great guy...and have a great time.    As for the San Francisco Marathon...when I started emceeing for Peter and Sophia 5 years ago the event was around 8 thousand total....this year it had over 19,000...as my brother Bart Yasso says... the race is the fastest growing major marathon in the country.   "No excuses weather" as my icon friend Frank Shorter would say blessed the day...and runners once again got to enjoy the GGBridge in both directions.  This is one of my favorite cities in America...and our girls Gretchen and Dominique had so much fun filming their documentary on Organ's R Us.   To: Dean, Bart, Peter, Sophia and especially Julie and Doc. Jeff Shapiro...many many thanks for all the efforts.   Next up are meetings with my friends at Bass Pro Shops to work on their Fitness Festival and then I'll see many of you at the Banco Popular Chicago Half Marathon....Jeff Graves tells me we'll have over 16-20 thousand runners at it this year....so and there's room for so many more... so sign up and run this awesome event.... see you there!!!

Minnesota State Champions...  GO FARON!!!   Not very often do I get to report on the sport of softball...but when one of your favorite sports announcers (and his team) Win the states...and get a birth at the Nationals...it's pretty cool.   Faron Meeks and I have worked the motorsports side of the fence together for years...not to mention the Field and Stream Magazine Total Oudoorsmen Challenge.  He's the Big Boy...in the front row ... left side.    Now the team plays Men's Slow Pitch and is sponsored by VanHouse Construction - Players Sports Bar - MN Power.   Rock on Faron... I know there will be the World's best looking baby girl cheering him on come Nationals........Angie Too!!!
